The False Image of Jesus
Many believers and unbelievers have a false image of Jesus.
Sad to say but even Christian Believers have created a false Jesus of their own imagination to live by. Their Jesus is always good, kind and lovely, smiling, … They forgot that He is also a KING, and He is God!
The resurrected Jesus, when He appeared to John in the book of Revelation, John wrote: When I saw Him I fell on the ground as dead! (Revelation 1:17) John could do nothing else than listen to that Jesus. He was no longer the Jesus of Nazareth who walked in the streets of Capernaum and Jerusalem. He was now the King of Heavens and of the Earth.
He is now the Eternal God whom we should serve in fear and trembling.
Because people don’t understand who Jesus really is, many respond to Him and His Word with no reverence! They are not taking His Word seriously, they are following His instructions lightly and they are not obeying His Words.
They take Jesus as their “friend” – we even sing: what a friend we have in Jesus!! Abraham was a friend to God, because Abraham obeyed God and did His will. Not because God was his “comrade”. This is the case with our relationship with Jesus.
In a certain way, many, many are despising His Blood spilled for them, because they are still playing with sins..
The people to whom the Lord revealed himself as King and as mighty God, they said they couldn’t bear “His thunder and explosive voice”… One brother said: “We are not dealing with a man but with God Almighty Himself…!”
The Bible tells us to serve HIM with fear and to rejoice with trembling. (Psalm 2:11)
To glorify Jesus is to follow His Words. To love Jesus is to obey His Word and what He commanded us to do. This is what proves that we know Him and that we do not walk with a false image of Him.
